DMDK leader Vijayakant today faulted the successive AIADMK and DMK regimes in Tamil Nadu

Chennai, Dec 3 DMDK leader Vijayakant today faulted the successive AIADMK and DMK regimes in Tamil Nadu, for their "inaction" in solving rain-related woes in the state, especially in the capital, Chennai.

In a statement here, the actor-politician alleged that the two parties were only involved in mudslinging on each other during their respective rules and did nothing "concrete" to address the problems.

The media mouthpieces of AIADMK and DMK blamed each other for the civic shortcomings. But neither parties have taken any steps to address problems such as inundation and waterlogging," he charged.

The same "official protocol" of Ministers and officials visiting the affected areas under media glare continued in every rule, he said.

Criticising both parties for not evolving a long-term policy on the effective draining of flood water, Vijaykant said the flood situation was worst in Chennai where sewage water mixed with stagnant water, causing hardships to the residents. (Agencies)
