Jan. 26: Hitting out at the DMK, DMDK leader Vijayakanth on Sunday once again hinted his willingness to ally with the AIADMK for the ensuing Assembly polls.
Firing barbs at Mr Karunanidhi and his family, Mr Vijayakanth who has kept party workers in suspense on possible electoral alliances, told his cadres at DMDK headquarters, “I will align with a party that does not loot people… A party that does not make people weep.” “I will form alliance with a party that will provide employment opportunities, reduce prices and offer good health care to the people,” he said. “I am ready to make any sacrifice for the people’s well-being,” he added, appealing to the people to back whatever alliance he forges. However, he quickly added that he has not decided on a tie-up as yet.
Accusing the CM of visiting New Delhi later this month end only for seatsharing talks, he asked, “Why did he send his son M.K. Stalin the previous time and is going himself this time?”
